PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: The primary objective of this position is to accurately and efficiently generate, analyze and evaluate financial data of the assigned business areas to ensure the resulting financial statements are within company policies as well as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) with the assistance/guidance of the accounting manager. MAJOR AREAS OF PERFORMANCE: - Prepare and make the proper accruals for month-end for assigned division
- Prepare monthly client statements for management review for assigned division
- Prepare a wide variety of ad hoc reports for management
- Complete reconciliations of various high risk accounts
- Provide support for year-end audits
- To assist with evaluating and monitoring internal controls; including identification of any weaknesses in the current control structure or suggestions of additional controls
- To challenge all current processes and procedures for effectiveness and efficiency
- To assist with the coordination of efforts between corporate accounting groups such as billing, collections, and accounts payable
- Support and maintain all corporate quality standards, policies, procedures, and work instructions as outlined in the company quality system documentation
- Ensure customer satisfaction by preventing the occurrences on nonconformities relating to product, process, and quality systems
- All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, (EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS) REQUIRED: - B.S. degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years of experience in and specific process knowledge of accounting and reporting
- Customer service skills essential, including the ability to deal with various levels of management
- Advanced computer skills including MS Office, specifically Excel; Access a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience using Lawson financials, a plus
- Self motivated with ability to determine when it’s necessary to reach out for assistance
