FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Oct. 19, 2007) - Rising to meet retailer and consumer demand for gift, pre-paid and secure cards, Archway Marketing Services, Inc., a leader in marketing fulfillment, forecasts that it will ship more than 204 million cards during 2007. As of Oct. 1, Archway had already shipped 115 million cards to more than 50 different retail clients. With the anticipated distribution of another 90 million during the holiday season, Archway is on pace to almost triple last year’s number of cards.
According to
TowerGroup, a leading financial services research firm, the entire gift card sales industry generated more than $80 billion in 2006, and that volume is expected to exceed $100 billion in 2008. As one of the leading end-to-end gift and pre-paid card suppliers in the United States, Archway will play a vital role in this year’s holiday retail season.
"The spike in gift and pre-paid cards is changing the way retailers do business," said Mike Moroz, president of Archway Marketing Services. "We’re seeing a surge in retail, restaurant and financial institutions using cards as a strategy for getting their brand into more places and in front of more consumers - in turn, driving them into the store."
In addition to brand specific loaded and non-loaded cards for retailers and restaurants, Archway also is seeing a surge in the popularity of universally accepted secure cards. In anticipation of the consumer demand, earlier this year Archway took measures to attain the highest level of secure card certification.
"With the demand for gift cards continuing to surge, the backend complexity of the process is a critical component, one that requires a partner that not only can consolidate and fulfill card shipments but also track and monitor for shortages and surplus," said Moroz. "With our technology and systems, the bottom line is that cards don’t ever have to be out of stock."
Archway is an end-to-end gift card solution provider, offering procurement, fulfillment, and inventory management, as well as serial number tracking, forecasting, automatic replenishment and online reporting for gift card programs. The company’s technology infrastructure combined with its serial number and lot tracking expertise, were used to develop a radio frequency (RF) tracking system and card fulfillment e-tools that streamlines inventory management and gets cards on the racks faster.
